How it works
The Million Solana Homepage is a shared 10,000×10,000 pixel canvas on Solana. You permanently claim pixels by burning $PIXEL tokens — once a pixel is painted, it is yours forever and can never be overwritten.
The $PIXEL token
$PIXEL is an SPL token on Solana. The only thing it does is buy you space on the canvas. There is no admin who can edit your pixels and no way to “unburn” — every pixel placed is final. The total supply is sized so the entire board can be filled exactly once:
- 100,000,000 pixels × 10 tokens = 1,000,000,000 $PIXEL total burn capacity.
The price: 1 pixel = 10 tokens
Every pixel you paint costs 10 $PIXEL, which are burned (destroyed) the moment you place your art. If you draw 50 pixels, 500 tokens leave circulation forever. This makes the canvas a permanent, deflationary record of who showed up.
Step 1 — Claim a region
Before drawing, you select a rectangular region on the canvas using the Select tool. You can only draw inside the region you claimed, which keeps everyone’s art from colliding. Each wallet may claim a region up to 300×300 pixels (90,000 pixels max per wallet).
Step 2 — Draw or paste an image
Inside your region you can free-draw with an adjustable brush size and color, or upload / paste (Ctrl+V) an image. Images are scaled down to the pixel width you choose, so a photo becomes pixel art that fits your claimed space.
Step 3 — Burn & place
When you’re happy, hit Burn & Place. Your wallet signs a single transaction that burns the right amount of $PIXEL. The site verifies the burn on-chain (correct token, correct amount, signed by you, never reused) and only then writes your pixels to the board. If the burn doesn’t check out, nothing is placed.
The burn transaction also carries an on-chain memo with your region and link — that memo is the source of truth, so your claim and its link live on Solana, not just in our database. To keep things fair, each wallet can place once every 10 minutes.
Link your area
When placing, you can attach an optional http(s) link to your pixels. Anyone who hovers your area sees the URL, and clicking it opens your site in a new tab — just like the original Million Dollar Homepage. Your pixels become a permanent, clickable ad.
Permanence & conflicts
A painted pixel can never be changed or painted over by anyone, including you. If you try to place on a pixel someone already owns, the placement is rejected before you burn. First to paint a pixel owns it for good. Hover any painted area to see the burn transaction that eternalized it, and click to open it on Solscan — every pixel is verifiably on-chain.
